2022 Concert

THANK YOU FOR AN INCREDIBLE NIGHT
Our 2022 event raised an astonishing £19,500 for FORCE.

The decision to postpone Classics Galore! in 2021 was something that the committee didn’t take lightly. We worked tirelessly to bring the event to the Great Hall, Exeter in 2022 and with the ‘cost of living crisis’, we were unsure how many would attend or how much could be raised for FORCE Cancer Charity. If we had foreseen the night itself back when the tricky decisions were made…..well, we would not have worried!

The night arrived on Saturday 12 November 2022 and we, the committee, wish to thank everyone who attended this event. It was an exceptional evening and we are extremely grateful to every single person who came along and/or took part. A huge thank you to you, our audience members without whom there wouldn’t have been a show. Our sincerest gratitude must also go to the incredible performers from the Classics Galore! orchestra led by our Musical Director Malcolm Matthews, members of Ottery St Mary Choral Society, St David’s Players, the incredible SW Comms Band, our stunning soloist soprano Cheryl Enever, our fabulous compère, Justin Leigh along with our sponsors, those who donated draw prizes, the amazing volunteers at FORCE, Event Exeter at the University of Exeter staff, members of the Estate Patrol Team and our backstage team. We couldn’t have done it without you and we are delighted to have had you all on board in making this year such a success.

It therefore gives us great pleasure to announce that we raised an astonishing £19,500 which will go towards supporting the vital work of FORCE Cancer Charity. The money will help contribute towards their services which includes: counselling, group sessions, complementary therapies, benefits advice, specialist physiotherapy and exercise guidance alongside other health and wellbeing support available to cancer patients and their families.

This means that since the conception of Classics Galore! in 2007, we have raised in excess of £130,000 for FORCE Cancer Charity to date. We are absolutely thrilled and thank you all so much.
